Darling Baby ~J~

I am always thrilled when the opportunity to photograph a newborn comes my way, and yesterday was one of those days. Baby ~J~ was absolutely perfect!! She is 2 weeks old, completely adorable and one of the easiest babies I've had the pleasure to photograph. Thank you Katie for allowing me into your home to meet your sweet little girl and thanks to your husband for stopping home during his lunch to sit in on some pics.....you have a wonderful little family. Here are your sneak peeks.....really hope you love them :)

Winter Wonderland

After taking a bit of time off after the holiday rush, it was really good to pick up my camera and head out for my first session of 2011. I was so glad that it had snowed.....so I bundled up and headed out! A new year.....and a new location.....really looks like 2011 for me, is all about trying new things!
The snow continued to fall during our session, which made for a beautiful winter wonderland. I was grateful that my clients were both absolutely gorgeous and extremely good in front of the lens......because after about a half hour, my fingers went numb and it was getting a tad difficult to change settings on my camera. Brrrr....it was cold....but you could definitely feel the love!! Thanks so much for making the start to this year amazing!!! Here is your sneak peeks Alexandra......hope you all love them!

1st Annual Boudoir Day Event!

So in keeping with trying new things this year, I have finally
gotten up enough courage to host my very first 'Boudoir Day'.
I really believe that everyone was created to be a perfect
version of themselves, unique and different in their own way.
It seems that more and more, women are lead to believe that
they have to conform to a certain image or size to be thought
of as beautiful. Well, I say pishposh to that!!! I want women
to be completely comfortable in their own skin.....feel gorgeous
and sexy. We are women.....we are beautiful! I want women of
all ages and sizes to embrace their beauty....be proud
of what they were given....step out of their shell and
do something completely different and empowering!!
And so my idea of bringing Boudoir photography back to
Binghamton was born.
And with Valentines Day quickly approaching,
I figured this was the time for me to step it up and jump in head first!
I posted and sent out some invites via my favorite means of advertisement, Facebook, and within 2 very short days.....BAM!....
all of the spots are full! I could never have imagined that I would
get such an overwhelming response! Once again, I'm left feeling
blessed.....and what an amazing feeling that is. I want to thank all
of the marvelous ladies who are going to take part in this event.....
and thank you for stepping out of your comfort zones....it really means
so much to me. So.......let's just say that there will be a select few, very
lucky fellas this upcoming Valentines Day.......I really hope we can
WOW them!! ♥♥♥

Happy New Year!

It is hard to believe that 2010 has already come to and end......and with the start of
this new year, I told myself it was time to make a few changes. 2010 was such an amazing year for my business.....I never dreamed it would get so successful, so quickly.....and I'm feeling
blessed. 'Living the American Dream', as it was put so nicely by the nice teller at my bank...
and she was right!!

I've been longing to completely revamp and upgrade my website, however, I am so frustrated
in the whole selection and design process that I have decided to opt for something a tad different.....for now. A blog! That's change #1. Also, I've been wanting to host a boudoir event
for over a year now....and I'm in the planning stages of that and hope to have a date set
within the next week.....so very exciting!!! Bringing beautiful boudoir to Binghamton. Stay tuned for more info on that :)

Since this is my very first blog post ever....I suppose I should share a little bit about myself and what photography means to me.......so here goes!
 Some tidbits of randomness:
~I overuse the word fabulous and I know it.
~I'm shy....unless you know me ;)
~I appreciate a delicious martini or a wonderful glass of red wine
~I'm a Nikon girl (thanks to my Dad)
~I have an obsession for beauty products
~Been on national TV twice....funny stories and very random!
~My feet are always freezing
~I love to braid my daughters hair
~Think personal lives should stay just that....personal.
~I have to have my coffee in the morning
~Refuse to shop at WalMart.....see below
~Small independent businesses ROCK!

Why I'm a photographer.....
When I was young....I actually yearned to be a professional ballet dancer, never dreamed I'd
be a photographer. I sort of just fell into this profession....and I have my Dad to thank for that....he opened the doors to my love of photography at a very young age, and I didn't even realize how much it meant to me until I was grown. He was a photographer and photo lab technician in the Viet Nam war. When he returned home, he opened his own studio and photo processing business, which remains open today. I grew up with cameras always around....it was a normal part of life. Capturing our special occasions and everyday life, which now looking back I am so very grateful for. So, after high school, I decided that pursuing my love of ballet by studying at college really wasn't something that was possible due to my reoccurring knee injuries. I needed a job. A well known national portrait studio just happened to be looking for a lead photographer in my area....so I applied....and was offered the job on the spot. That's when it all began.

I worked there for almost 2 years until they left our area. Then, I went to work with my Dad....the same place I had helped out when I was young....where I spend lots of my summer days as a child. I will always treasure those years we spent together, working side by side, but
when my husband and I decided to start our family, I knew it was time for me to go. That and a pinched sciatic nerve...yuck! Years went by.....and my husband and I had a magnificent little family......a daughter and a son....both beyond perfect. I was a stay at home mom and wouldn't have had it any other way. Financially, it was not easy, but was worth every sacrifice we had to make.

Of course, when my children were born....I was like the paparazzi! Snapping away, missing that creative outlet that I had once loved so. Capturing every moment I could for my children because I knew that one day, when they are grown, they will cherish all of the photographs.....just as I cherish the images my father took of me and my siblings so long ago. A few years had passed and I found myself taking on a job here and there, which now has grown to a full time business for me. I yearn to be creative....to stay motivated and fresh....to help my friends and clients capture these fleeting moments of their life that will one day be looked back on as their happiest memories together. I want to make the portrait experience light, fun and unique for everyone.....because everyone deserves to have some bit of the present to hold dear and share with the future. I put my heart and soul into my work and I greatly appreciate all of my clients that understand that that effort is worth something. I put in late nights....and some long hours making sure that each sessions images are perfect....they are my creative vision and passion. My goal is to show each client that they are special....that they are beautiful and deserve to leave behind something more than a forgotten snapshot on a cell phone or hard drive.............they deserve a portrait as unique as they are to pass on for generations to come.

All My Best,
Wendy
